Living in Woodbury, Tamarack Tap Room is a go-to for us (you can read the previous reviews here).
So this review is dedicated to the three new items we tried for the Spring 2024 menu.
Continue readingCheese and sandwiches are two of my favorite foods so of course I’m obsessed with National Grilled Cheese Day. I’ll admit that lately my favorite grilled cheese sandwiches are made by my husband (his are honestly ELITE), but for those of you without a live in home chef who understands that there is really never enough cheese 😂 I thought I’d share my top 5 🧀 over the years in the Twin Cities!
And as an added bonus, you can scroll to the bottom for the Distastefully Tommy recipe 🎉
Continue readingI have made absolutely ZERO secret about my love of an espresso martini so when my friend (and co-espresso martini adventurer) messaged me that today, March 15th was National Espresso Day I was obviously PUMPED.
I’m going to do a quick and dirty Top 5 of my favorite ones around the cities for those who want to celebrate with me!
P.S. I like an ACTUAL espresso martini and not the fake chocolate type so if you like sweet and not bitter you won’t like these haha
Continue readingAs a vodka enthusiast, I’m embarrassed to say this is only my second time visiting Moscow on the Hill in Saint Paul 😬. Lately husband and I have been stuck in a bit of a rut so when he told me it was my turn to pick date night I put together a list of places I was long overdue for a visit and when he saw Moscow on the Hill and he realized he could get some quality “beef strogo” it was an immediate yes for him.
Continue readingWhen I heard that a new concept, eM Que Viet, was being opened by the same families who own Que Viet Villages and the Que Viet Concession at the Minnesota State Fair, but with the added bonus of a full bar, I was all in. I was so excited to finally get there to check it out for my monthly friendship dinner and it definitely lived up to Que Viet’s reputation.
Continue readingWhile creating my “Favorite Foods of 2023” post I realized my immense oversight in never writing a dedicated Hipster Hack food review for Ronnally’s Pizza and Pasta in Woodbury, Minnesota. So here I am to right my wrong!
Ronnally’s is locally owned and Woodbury’s longest standing restaurant. Opened in 1973, they actually just celebrated their 50th year in business!
Continue readingI thought I’d try something a little different and do a recap of my 12 favorite foods for 12 months of 2023!
I go out pretty frequently, but sometimes it’s just drinks and an app or somewhere I’ve been before so it doesn’t always make sense to do a full on Hipster Hack review. In this format I’ll be able to highlight some of those other places that make foods I adore!
Sharing in no particular order…
Continue readingAfter my sister sent me a photo of the giant pickle pretzel at Hope Breakfast Bar with a “when are we going?” message, I had a reservation booked within 5 minutes haha.
Continue readingWe finally made it over to Hazelwood Food and Drink to try out their brunch menu.
Continue readingHusband suggested we grab Sunday brunch at Kitchen and Rail in Eagan, Minnesota and after a quick look online I experienced a moment of deja vu seeing that the owners were familiar faces to me! To keep it short – in one of my previous lives (aka 10 years ago) I worked as a restaurant marketer. Through that restaurant’s giveback program I had the opportunity to work with the owner’s, Victor and Joe, through the charitable organization they’re involved with, MATTER, to create and distribute MATTERboxes (packs of premade food for those in need).
Because of their involvement with MATTER, I was also completely unsurprised to see that Kitchen and Rail has a mission of giving back to community organizations and causes ❤️.
