I had the opportunity to try out the new Norseman Distillery Cocktail Room a few weeks ago for a friend’s birthday.
We had a pretty large party, but were lucky to score one of the couch seating areas due to some intense creeping next to some who were getting ready to leave. Standard.

Carma Coffee located off Lowry Ave. in Northeast is most likely recognizable as having a very similar name to the business next to them, Good Carma Auto Repair, who has been their partner since they opened in 2014.
After years of forgetting Carma Coffee existed until I was driving by, a hankering for a new Sunday coffee stop and a mention from a fellow Northeast dweller, finally made Carma Coffee top of mind. A decision I’m delighted with.

Yes, that is snow on the ground in this picture. This is clearly a post that’s been a long time coming! After trying Marina Grill & Deli I was quite curious about this Marino’s Deli that I kept driving by on my numerous trips down Johnson to Target…#GirlProblems. It quickly became clear that these two Northeast gems have nothing in common other than their longstanding Northeast Minneapolis traditions and a couple standard deli menu items.

Scoring a reservation within 7 days at Young Joni is the equivalent of a modern day miracle. Ranked as one of the best new restaurants in America by GQ, their food lives up to the hype.

While Northeast does have many things, one thing that seems pretty lacking is Sports Bars. Besides Stanley’s, every other location is pretty dive or niche. So the triumphant opening of Bunny’s Bar & Grill NE was actually pretty exciting, not to mention their location in St. Louis Park has such a cult following from many of my suburb friends.
Having opened the week before Superbowl Sunday, they were not only my choice location to explain Football to our visiting British friend, but they were also my choice place to celebrate Adult Easter (seemed fitting) and continue to remain one of my favorite weekend beverage destinations.

Donuts are bae. When I heard that Glam Doll Donuts was opening a second location in Northeast, I was excited to finally be able to try them out. I’ve always heard amazing things about their boutique donuts and knowing it is a female owned business touched me in all the feels.

Another year, another Northeast Minneapolis brewery. I’d have to say the greatest assets for Able is their visibility from Broadway and their patio!

I’m going to start this entry with an apology, considering the Loppet Nordic Racing event was 3 months ago, BUT since it’s definitely an event I think you should get on your calendars for next year, I’m going to go ahead and sing it’s praises anyway!

Sandwiched between Keegan’s and JL Beers, PinKU Japanese Street Food is a must try.
Having recently moved back to Northeast Minneapolis after 6 months of pretending we could be happy in the suburbs, I was beyond excited to get back to trying new Minneapolis restaurants and the non-chain restaurant life. Being a novice sushi eater, and completely averse to shrimp, thanks to once being told that shrimp were 1 chromosome away from a cockroach (you’re welcome for that, too), I was minorly hesitant when my boyfriend suggested we try PinKU. It proved to be completely unwarranted. Continue reading
